You can attach the rod to virtually any standard percussion multi clamp, and thanks to its curved shape your instruments will be well within arm's reach while you're playing. The knurled surface of the rod ensures it will remain firmly in the clamp, while enhancing the grip of your percussion instrument on the rod, so everything stays in place for as long as it needs to.
